UN Women together with the Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE) in collaboration with MNC Insurance held a running competition divided into two categories of 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers.

The running competition which was held at Epicentrum Walk, Kuningan, South Jakarta was to commemorate International Women's Day (HPI) which fell on March 8.

It aims to raise public awareness of gender equality embodied in the HeForShe movement. He For She Run 2018 was attended by around 5,000 registered participants and started at 06.00 WIB.

The head of HeForShe Run 2018, Anne Patricia Sutanto, said that realizing gender equality is closely related to forming sportsmanship. Gender equality will be achieved if women and men have equal opportunities, abilities, and choices in their daily lives.

"This requires sportsmanship from both sides, men and women. For this reason, IBCWE is holding the HeForShe Run as an event for runners to declare that they are willing to be fair and support gender equality in the world of work and women's economic empowerment," he said in Jakarta, Sunday (4/3/2018).
